Jeremiah taught himself how to engrave so he could add silver trim to his Western saddles. He and his wife, Colleen, eventually opened their own tack business. Jeremiah started his tack making career by first learning the art of saddle making at an Amarillo, Texas school in 1976. McChesney’s family moved westward into Arkansas and then into Indian Territory in what is not Oklahoma. McChesney was born in Plymouth, Indiana in 1868 and even attended Notre Dame for two years.
